How congregations and their members can get involved in Family Promise

 

Become a HOST CONGREGATION- A congregation can decide to become a host congregation and provide shelter for a week at a time for 3-5 families on a rotational basis (usually providing shelter 3-4 times a year.)

 

Become a SUPPORT CONGREGATION- A congregation that finds itself unable to provide space for hosting can decide to join Family Promise as a support congregation.  Congregations provide support in a number of ways:

Financial Support-individuals and a congregation can make a financial contribution to Family Promise

  -PROMISE 260 CLUB memberships
  -Special Offerings
   -Fundraising Events
   -Make Family Promise a Mission of the congregation
  -Provide a one time donation to help with start up cost

Volunteer Support-individuals within congregation provide time, talent and resources to assist the operations of Family Promise program

  -Volunteer at a host congregation
  -Become a Day Center volunteer
  -Offer your professional skills to assist homeless families
   -Work with children and youth to provide summer and weekend activities
  -Consider serving on the Family Promise Board
   - Serve on one of the Family Promise Planning Teams (Fundraising, Public Relations, Day Center Operations, Host Congregation Recruitment)
